ds-156 online form

Double post - sorry!

Hi all,

we've just received packet 3 and have completed everything except the DS-156 online form.

The only things we're not sure about are some of the Yes/No questions at the end of the form.

The first is for:

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty or other similar legal action?

The only thing I have in relation to police matters was a caution, which is the only thing on my Police check report. I was arrested and only cautioned. So I am assuming I will need to say Yes to that, but just wanted to check. And I am assuming that that wont affect anything much.

Have you ever been refused admission to the U.S., or been the subject of a deportation hearing or sought to obtain or assist others to obtain a visa, entry into the U.S., or any other U.S. immigration benefit by fraud or willful misrepresentation or other unlawful means?

The last time I tried to get into the US, on the VWP, I got turned away as I'd overstayed my last VWP. So that's another Yes?

And lastly:

Have you ever violated the terms of a U.S. visa, or been unlawfully present in, or deported from, the United States?

The aforementioned VWP overstay - which looks like another Yes.

For some reason I feel that it's not clear whether I should tick yes for these, but it's probably just having gotten so far into the process and being hit with 3 Yes ticks in these bits where really I'd love to be able to say No to all of these questions so that the whole thing goes smoothly. Ah well. I just want to check really. I hope someone can give me a simple bit of clarification and perhaps some reassurance that these Yes's wont ####### the whole thing up.
