Hi,

II had a question about the I-134 Q7.My fiance lost his job after sending our package,so right now he is still unemployed, and his father is our co-sponsor.Both have filled in separate I-134s.My fiance has left Q7 blank.

And regarding Q11,my fiance has ticked on 'I do intend' and our co-sponsor on 'I do not intend'.Will the separate answers be an issue?

Am I getting worked up over nothing major?

Thanks very much,

Anwesha

I am not saying you are going to have a problem. But there was a posting here where the interview was ok except the Consular Officer (CO) gave a 221g to re-submit both I-134s, the USC and the joint sponsor such that Question 11 was answered the same by both petitioner and joint sponsor.

I cannot say how your Consulate and the CO will handle the different answers. They could ignore it, or they could request new I-134s to be filed.

I believe both should mark "I do intend" and then on the lines give a general list of things provided.

Good luck

You will notice in the VJ example, a petitioner who HAS

enough income to support the petition answers Q11 like this:

Q11 - {neither box checked for Petitioner}

N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence ).

I think Q11 is only for the co-sponsor; it could be for

an optional declaration of exactly how much support

will be offered, which is separate from the income of

the co-sponsor (which of course is not 100% available

to the petitioner & beneficiary).

I haven't needed a co-sponsor, so a better answer

might come from someone who has used one and

successfully gone through the visa approval with one.

I also think that there might be a request to re-submit

the I-134s, but something like that is the call of the CO.

My final suggestion is to put "co-sponsor" in the VJ

search box and you will find other threads where this

question may have been hashed out.

Question 7 blank is a really bad idea. If unemployed, say so. Question 11 needs a truthful answer. Use that as your guide. I generally recommend USC fiance state that he intends to support the beneficiary as their spouse. Co-sponsors, simply answer truthfully. I advise against answering any question on any form or in any interview with an immigration official without first considering carefully what the actual truth is and responding accordingly. This idea that there's a right answer, truth or not, is a prescription for not only failure but disaster in an immigration process and with most other aspects of life on Earth.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

I agree it is not a good idea to leave some question blank,I think it just slipped him .I will just do something about that question.

My problem is Q11 still however.Well very very truthfully speaking, our co-sponsor just stepped in to bail us out of the bad situation, and to get us across the interview stages, and we will try to not have to depend on him or I shall try to not become a public charge.

So I do not know why it would be wrong if he checked 'Do not intend'.

But to be clearer still,I have asked this question in my embassy's forum.

Thank you all.
