However, the term "homosexual offenders" is translated from the greek word malakos (or malakai)which does NOTmean homosexuality literally. Malakai literally means "soft" and it is associated with weak morals. Wiki

That is why I have a problem with people quoting the bible willy nilly. It is important to understand that the bible has been translated numerous times, and it is also important to understand the history and the context of the whole passage before throwing out bible verses.

You are right about homosexuality - that international bible is just filling in stuff that isn't there. The Hebrews had no terms for homosexuality.

Hummmm.... I did not demand celibacy of anyone. I simply suggested that a homosexual who choose not to do the act that would define him, or her, as a homosexual, might not then be classified as a homosexual....

Sorry, I didn't have you in mind when I said some 'demand' celibacy or confining sexuality between male or female regardless of orientation. I don't think it matters what one classifies oneself as, the only people who care about sexual orientation having names and fitting people into those boxes are those who consider sodomy and same sex sexual behaviour as sinful and 'against nature'.

I think if we are to be honest, we would have to admit Christians, are not as compromising of their core believes as say Lefties can be.

I mean how many times have we seen documented, some far Left actor, activist or leader who lives pretty much contrary to the message that they spout?

Al Gore and many of the Global-Warming crowd comes to mind as they have been documented time and time again living huge energy consumption lives all the while cautioning us against it with the best "hell-fire and brimstone"

CHristians on the other hand tend not to be so flexible.... oh I know of late: we have has a few "open minded" brands of Christians emerge but if one were to disregard these early spring snow flakes and others which have come and gone over the centuries we could not help but conclude Christians (and the other great faiths) by and large all would have trouble sitting under the teaching or ministry of a sexual deviant. (Which is a sound description of homosexuality).

In the Secular music world... people just perform music (ego required)

IN the World of Faith based music, the performer is required to be a bit more.

This is why Christian artists who've had large followings and then found them self in a compromising life situation, kind of fizzle out, It's not that the listening audience has abandoned them personally ... it's just hard to take their message serious, for a while any way.

Now we have had fun right here on VJ posting pics and vids of the Global Warming "experts" driving in limos rather than the available free bus made available for the experts, we have seen their Big house boats, houses and Airplanes.

But to the best of my knowledge not one Global-Warmer here has Lost confidence in these leaders or disciples of the most important issue of our day (or so we are told).

So what can we conclude?

Leftist are better compromisers than are Christians.

Look at the definition of Malakai and tell me if you think gays would meet the criteria and if not how are you going to discredit the countless other times that its mentioned in the bible when these particular words are not used.

Im glad that Christians have found a way to let Gays into there religion I have nothing against gays and see them as equals but I refuse be part of the crowd of naive ones that believe according to the bible it isn't a sin, it is and it clearly states it and to argue other wise is intellectually dishonest.

I don't know what rational has been used by some christians to allow for homosexuality to be acceptable while to others it is not - that's not really my concern because from my point of view basing ones actions on something so ambiguous as the bible and making claims to have the authority to know definitively that your interpretation is the right one is completely ludicrous particularly if your actions fly in the face of acting in a humane fashion. That is rather sad if you claim that you are basing your life on compassion, love and equal rights for the individual, which most christians claim to do.
