Ok, today I was told that sometimes when a spouse is on active military duty, they often don't call you for the interview.

This is really important to know for us, as my husband is on deployment till late fall :(

Has anyone been in this situation?

How does it work? Am I going to have to go by myself?

June 15, 2010 Interview. Kept me in for 50 minutes. Asked for addt'l proof (print out of my hubby's direct deposit account

June 25, 2010 Received my proof. No action. No touches. Nothing.

Freaked out.

July 12 Made Info-Pass. They couldn't find my file, then when they did, they told me it had been transferred to the military unit, and they didn't understand why I mailed them my hubby's direct deposit account, so they didn't update anything. They guy at the military unit asked me a few questions, and told me he would make his decision within 2 days.

July 14, 2010 @ 8.02am Email and Text from USCIS "Card Production Ordered".

Finally.

When I was calling lawyers to get information on my husband's AOS from his J1 I was told they always call in for an interview since this is their first time meeting you as a couple (as in, you didn't have an interview at POE like other visa types do). I've never heard of the exception for those in military, did you hear it from a reliable source? It might be helpful to give a call to an immi lawyer and see if that's something they'll tell you without shelling out cash.
