WTF NVC

SO I spend another night calling NVC and the operator tells me 'gee you should be set up on EP by now because it doesn't usually take this long' - we sent our OPTIN email Mar 30th then again last week as per NVC's recommendations. And again today. I didn't, again at NVC operator's request, send in the DS3032 - she suggested only the OPTIN . She thought it was odd but that perhaps they either still didn't have it or they didn't receive it. I asked how it's even possible not to receive it? She said there is a group of people that work specifically on all the electronic processing.

She didn't see a record of our I 864 either. Of course not.

I'm not sure if at this time EP is faster than postal entries or not. I can't believe I have to keep sending this stuff in. She said she could see how our case was progressing and saw the AOS bill but not the I 864 or anything else.

We're at the 2 week stage so I thought I'd call.

Bloody ridiculous. I told her I was concerned about sending duplicate emails because it may actually slow the process down but she recommended it. What is it going to take?

It took us about 15 business days. So when you say two weeks that is about 10 business days. But once you get confirmation email, then it is very fast. So this is the time you prepare all your documents. pdf and get it ready. May as a draft email. The day you get confirmation send the email same day. Get police report, photographs, marriage certificate, birth certificate, tax returns, job verification letter READY. Once you got confirmation then it will be delay on your side, unless you have everything ready to go. After confirmation, the total process takes 5 business days, only if you are READY.

Ya, I'm noticing this slowdown as well. It seemed to start in March, and has bleed over into April. grrr.

Thanks guys, ya I was venting and ranting. I did have the I 864 sent and also I have the DS230 all ready so really it's just a matter of getting the EP confirmed. I seem to hit a wall now and then.

Well NVC sent us the EP confirmation email and the IV bill. We paid that this am; we also got an email confirming they have received documents - we has sent in the I 864.

I don't know if we were just in line for the normal period and would have received the EP confirmation email or if my speaking with the supervisor helped. He was really good and was looking into it. I'll be sure to thank him.

I'm glad to have cleared that hurdle because two operators and one supervisor all said that it shouldn't take that long to get confirmation of the process plus them asking for the documents 4 times. On the other hand, people are reporting 2 to 3 weeks for confirmation; NVC says it shouldn't take that long. I guess there are some glitches and maybe for those behind and getting close to EP, it may be worked out for them to be entered into EP faster than our journey.

Either way, I'm grateful to be moving forward and will celebrate with a happy dance plus a mallet to the head

So our IV bill was confirmed as paid in one day.That was very quick. I also sent in the DS230 package. But this am and before all this, I received an email from NVC saying they didn't have my I 864 and supporting documents; but I sent those in after the AOS bill showed as paid.

I'm starting to wonder if people should not send the I864 nor DS230 until after you receive something from NVC . I know this goes against the advise given on VJ and I and others have followed it. BUT it seems that I'm having to resend them anyway.

My record of sending documents as recommneded by NVC operators, a supervisor and emails from NVC are as follows:

* 3 OPTIN emails, 2 including the DS3032 and one without it - one was sent to NVCInquiry and addressed to a supervisor (as per his direction) rather than NVCElectronic

* 2 submissions of the I 864

I just sent the DS230 package this afternoon after the IV bill was confirmed as paid but am now wondering if I'll end up with another email from NVC advising to send in the DS230. If so, I'll just resend it but....am I getting there any faster by jumping it as suggested on the EP and people's advise on VJ.

Any thoughts or comments?

there's a coversheet available in the payment portal, on each 'set' -

you ARE including the coversheet with the barcode thingie, right?

a few months ago, I was also suggesting ppl send in the paid receipt page IN ADDITION to the coversheet.

IMO, though - that coversheet is important.

Did you include the coversheet (from the payment portal) for the I-864 ?? (This is just a stab in the dark, btw)

Yes we are including all the barcoded coversheets that are downloaded from the payment portal. As well, I'm also including separate cover sheets that lists all the documents we are attaching.
