Hi

I asked this question already once but I am still confused. Sorry for asking again but I wanna be sure.

1. when I file for Aos i file the EAD and AP too. Do I need a copy of my passport, I94, Visa etc 3 times then..so one for AOS, one for EAD and one for AP?

2. AP asked for a seperate sheet where I explain how i qualify to get AP...what's that all about? what should I write in there?

We want AP because we wanna have our honeymoon in Italy..is it that what they wanna know?

3. From the Embassy in Germany I got a big brown Elvelope I gave to the officer at POE and I got a different smaller brown Envelope..Is that the medical exam? or what might that be?

The officer at POE didnt take that one.

4. On all these documents i write my new last name under family name, right because i wanna have that name on all documents? Greencard etc. Also, can I change the name on my foreign Passport somehow?

Thanks for the replies

Hi

1. when I file for Aos i file the EAD and AP too. Do I need a copy of my passport, I94, Visa etc 3 times then..so one for AOS, one for EAD and one for AP?

Each application requires it's own set of evidence. Review the instructions for each one and plan accordinly.

2. AP asked for a seperate sheet where I explain how i qualify to get AP...what's that all about? what should I write in there?

We want AP because we wanna have our honeymoon in Italy..is it that what they wanna know?

Since you used the K-1, you can simply write "For future travel before the green card is granted" and you can put "TBD" for dates. (I did this and had no issues.) Ensure the immigrant does not have 180+ days of out of status prior to getting the NOA for the AOS.

3. From the Embassy in Germany I got a big brown Envelope I gave to the officer at POE and I got a different smaller brown Envelope..Is that the medical exam? or what might that be?

The officer at POE didnt take that one.

Does this smaller envelope say anything on it? Like "Do not open"? Usually, the medical is inside the main envelope, you do not get it.

4. On all these documents i write my new last name under family name, right because i wanna have that name on all documents? Green Card etc. Also, can I change the name on my foreign Passport somehow?

If you are going to use the "married" name, start to do so (in accordance to the laws of your state) for any documents from now on (after marriage of course), and for the passport, you can go to the consulate of the immigrants country and have them update the passport.

Thanks for the replies

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
