Sounds like you have a CR1 case, not K3 if NVC is scheduling the interview. Did you pay a $400 fee while the case was at NVC?

I'm pretty sure the US embassy in Ghana is responsible for scheduling the interview. I've heard it takes some time, but from comparing timelines on VJ it seems to me it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 months! I hope this is true for your sake and mine.

According to the research and timelines I have seen, it takes about 30 weeks from the time the case is complete. The interviews are scheduled the second week of every month - and it is now a long wait in que. Nothing canbe done to expedite the part, just hang in there & be patient.... My case was complete the last week in December - hoping for an interview date in May/June. Once you are notified you have a date, the date is a month out. The interview comes and if all goes well there is about a month wait for the Visa - if there are any RFE's or anything else needed at the interview - you are delayed about 3 weeks.

I tell you this not to discourage you, but to be realistic in what to expect - for me, knowing that it takes this long prepares me instead of gathering up hopes every month only to be disappointed and lonesome.

Thanks so much for the information...I guess I have 3 more months to go....

We have been waiting for 8 months now - our case was complete in July 2010. If we get our interview in April it will validate the estimate given above but I have been seeing people wait for 12+ months. I'm really hopeful that we all see progress soon!
