I have a questions about re-entry permit.

My husband is going to overseas for the deployment.

While he is gone, I will be in Japan with my daughter.

We will stay in Japan for about 8 months.

We will come back right before my 2 year GC will be expired.

Do I still need to get the re-entry permit?

By my understanding, I need to get the re-entry permit if you are out of the US for more than a year.

I called the USCIS military help line, and they told me that same thing.

We will come back to the US before my GC will be expired, but it is so close to the expiration date.

So I am kind of worried, plus last 2 years I have been travling to Japan every 3-4 months.

Am I gonna have a trouble for entering the US?

You really shouldn't have any issues. Just make sure to bring a copy of his orders as proof why you were out of the country. Also, make sure to apply for removal of conditions 90 days before your green card expires - that will give you a NOA1 which extends your status for another year. You can enter US even if your GC is expiring tomorrow - you're still good.
