At last I have an interview date! Yahhhh!!!! My husband had a job to go to in Colorado so he had to go on the 21st of May and we've been apart since then :( I really miss him.

I'd like to know how long it takes to receive the green card after the interview. I am under the impression that they keep my passport at the interview and they will send it to me later? What about the SSN? Do they send it to the address in the US?

Thanking you in advance for your help, wishing you a great day and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

Ana

Hello,

If you're DCFing, you don't get the greencard until after you've entered the US. You get the visa thingy glued into your passport which (at Frankfurt at least) takes a 'few' days after the interview, according to the consulate's web page.

The green card will be mailed to the US address you specified after your entry, and so long as you ask for the social security card 'automatic application' option (I think this is on DS-230 II?) that comes along to your US address too, supposedly within a month or so of your arrival.

Permanent Resident Since 01/03/2007

N-400 application mailed 3/20/17

Credit card charged 3/25/17

NOA 3/31/17
