Yesterday, my wife received a Notice of Action saying that the fingerprint card on file has expired. The appointment date is 3/10/06. I would like to reschedule for an earlier date. I called USCIS and they said that the only way to change the date is to send the notice with a letter to the office. They said even if I do that, there's no guarantee that itll be any sooner.

Is there anything else I can do?...like go by the office(it's local) and ask for a change?

You might be able to get it changed for a later date..... but you dont stand any chance of getting it for an earlier date..... they have sent you the first date that is available to you in a very long line of people waiting...

unless you are going to be too ill to go on that date... I would keep it..

IMO

By the time you get the appointment rescheduled it will probably be April. Remember who you are dealing with here :D
