I decided to post this in off topic since most i see are about visa , and I guess I can hope someone who knows how to fix my problem may see this.

I was borned to U.S. Parents in Germany in a german hospital, and recieved a birth certificate. Then Went back to the states and i ended up being

put up for adoption. I was finally adopted after a few years and they changed my last name. SO they had our birth certifcates changed to thier last

name, ( but they kept the same first name and middle name) and this was in state of kentucky. Well i have misplaced my birth certificate and i Need

a new one so i can change my kentucky license to flordia license or i wont be able to even purchase a car here, and i need birth certificate to change it over. Very aggrovating but my fault for losing it.

My birth cerficate I had; had my adoptive last name not my orginally last name before I lost it. Do i contact frankfurt, ky vital records to recieve? Everytime i go to order it online ask for state but Doesnt havent have Abroad options, so i dont know if i need to say kentucky or germany? anyone who can help me out would be great.

THanks

Mike.

It's Frankfort Ky (Frankfurt is in Germany) :P

I'd go through Ky if that's where your birth certificate was issued and see how that goes before anything else. Is it safe to assume your adoptive parents don't have a copy?

**Rather than this thread being in OT, it may be more appropriate in "General Immigration"; moving thread there.

Try calling them. When I needed my birth certificate to file the I-129F petition and found out my parents had misplaced them, I had to get a copy from NJ. I tried online but kept having problems, so I called. They were responsive and helpful. I'd give it a shot. Vital records is a low-stress job so the people working them tend to be nicer, not like the freaks who work the DMV.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
