I was pretty sure I had a blood clot in my leg the other day....it turned out I was really low on potassium and was cramping up and not circulating properly.

Anyway, we had to go to the ER. I am not on his insurance yet but the paperwork is in and we are married so I am hoping it will be covered. At the hospital they filled out a form for people who make less than 125K a year and they cover 75% of it. Does this violate anything to do with the affidavit of support?

No this is a normal thing for people without insurance.. in the US if you go to the hospital for most anything without insurance you are pretty much SOL! So they offer discounts .. not sure why they dont just say the price is cheaper.. but its a discount. It will still be more then it would have cost with insurance though.

One of the hospitals here offers either a 70% or 80% cash discount for uninsured patients. However, you have to ask for the discounted rate or else you will be expected to pay the full price. Or at least that is what happened to us. I paid the full bill by cheque and never once was I told about the cash discount. I asked the next time and received it. Also, the discount was due in full, not by payment plan which is an option for those paying full price.

Judge Judy rules!
