Well, its finally official. I just gave my two weeks notice. Chutma and I are off for Florida! After our wedding last month, we flew out to Florida for a look around and for a job interview. As soon as I got back to Kauai, I received a call saying an offer would be coming. After some negotiating, we came to an agreement, and the ball is now rolling. I’m just waiting to hear from the local movers to set up our pack out date. If all goes well, we’ll get packed out on the 21st, and head to Florida on the 23rd. We’ll be staying in a hotel till we can close on a house, and are looking for a house around the Melbourne area.

I am leaving ITT Industries for a position with Computer Sciences – Raytheon (CSR) and will be working in the Range Operations Control Center at Cape Canaveral AFS. It will be a challenging new position, and I’m looking forward to getting started. Though Hawaii, and Kauai in particular, are beautiful islands, and great places to visit, it’s just too expensive to live here. I’m looking forward to the 32% decrease in cost of living, and being able to buy a home that isn’t cracker box for over $500,000.00!!!

Chutima is excited to live somewhere a little more civilized, with actual shopping malls, and a home that isn’t covered in dust from the Red Dirt! When she saw the produce section at a grocery store in Melbourne, I thought I wouldn’t be able to get her out of there! She’s a little worried about the hurricanes, but that’s what insurance is for!

This is a great opportunity for us to begin our new life together in a new home, with a new job, and a new location, just like the monk in Thailand told us would happen back in May!!! Once there, we will be able to continue with our AOS, and hope that dealing with the Orlando office will be better than Honolulu!
