Ok so I received the following Notice today: "Request for applicant to appear for initial interview Case Type: Form I-485, Application to register permanent residence or adjust status"

So my main question is if the interview goes well then what is the next step from there? Will there be other interviews? Will I get my temporary green card?

Thanks for the responses in advance

If all goes well you will get your approval of your 2 year green card, then after 2 years you apply for removal of conditions(10 year green card). Normally there is no other interview but they can request another interview when you file for the 10 year green card. Good luck!

They can call you in for a second interview before issuing the 2 year green card as well. The "initial" interview shouldn't be alarming to you - it's just the first (and hopefully last) time you've been asked to appear.

There are lots of interview reviews in the link at the top of the page (Reviews: Embassy/USCIS&POE) You'll pick your local office and it will take you there!

Nearly everything on the list says (unless already submitted) so we only brought things which hadn't been submitted, or originals.

We brought originals of all of the documents for which we only submitted photocopies, but if we submitted the original (as in the I-864, or I-693) we didn't bring anything else. I did bring updated pay stubs, but they weren't requested.

As for proof of relationship, there are a myriad of things to bring. An incomplete list might include mail (esp. bills) with both names at the same address, Drivers' licenses with the same address, proof of insurance for both of you (We had car and health and dental insurance cards), proof that you have mingled assets, so maybe a check with both your names on it or credit/debit cards for the same account with both names on them. Leases with both names, pictures from your wedding, pictures from times other than your wedding, pictures of you with each other's friends and family, etc....

For a lot of that stuff, she let us get away with redacted financial info, but you should bring your own (redacted) copies. If you just bring your wallets with all the cards in them, then they make a copy straight out.
