No one can say for sure if you'll be turned away at the port of the host country but I'll assume they'll have a problem with your passport being expired a whole year ago. Remember the green card carries most weight here in the u.s. Most countries don't care about your green card so to enter their land, you will have to show a proper tradel document which you don't have because you let your passport expire. It sounds like you haven't paid for the cruise yet so maybe you should get your passport renewed first so you don't have to be worried and you can enjoy another cruise later.

With the exception of Canada, at land borders only, you cannot travel to other countries without a valid passport. WRT ports of call...... check your cruiseline's website. It depends on the country whether you are required to obtain a visa or not. In the majority of cases it is not a requirement but your cruiseline would have that information. Generally, all you do is have your onboard card scanned when you exit the ship, and then again when you re-enter. Some countries require you to scan in and out of the POE gate, also..... or to at least show your card.

Here is an informational link from the Holland America line: Travel Identification Requirements

I'm going to separate your question from jhoy's thread as it is best to create your own threads so as not to hijack someone else's. smile.gif
