nah - not at all :D

You can ask for a supervisor.

Heck, at this stage, you should ask for (also) an 'Electronic Processing Specialist' then see who comes to the phone.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They probably would say "A What?" All I want is for them to do the task at hand quickly and without issues. I realize that this is asking alot these days, but one must be optimistic... especially when dealing with such matters. Matters of my wife..

How do you use the "automated" system? it says to use your touch tone phone to enter the first three letters.. I tried and keeps saying it doesn't understand what i put in.. I guess I have to stick with talking with someone... or figure this out..

try either the GZO or GUZ casefile #

IF NEITHER WORK, don't sweat this.

Pay attention to the online payment portal, as well - at some point, you won't be able to log in there - and that is sure sign of emminent 'case complete at NVC ' time tick.

IF there is an RFE, you will recv email notice about it. But I'm sure you'll catch it prior to any email, on your daily dialing compaign.

After reviewing what is contained in Packet 3 & Packet 4, brings up a few issues.

  1. in P3, there is OF-169 K Instruction Packet, I would assume . NOT Needed with CR1 Case, Correct?
  2. Packet 3 - There is a chinese formatted letter, what is it ?
  3. Packet 4: Because NVC Will email me the appointment letter, any need to print out the Appointment letter in Packet 4?
  4. OF-169 in Packet 4, Date 11/2005, Needed?
  5. OF-171, Check List which I assume is just for our benefit to ensure we have all things, correct?
  6. Any other forms needed from the Consulate Website for the interview?

I Keep calling and sometimes i get a good operator, if not I ask one question and call again. By the way if anyone is reading this, there is an operator named "Arthur" not nice man... if you get this guy, hang up and try again. He will not help you at all. I think he works day shift because I've been getting him a lot lately.

So, is there anything else you or anyone can think that I need to prepare once I get out of NVC? I am still colling paystubs, will print out any last emails before I go back for the interview.

Lastly, any last minute horror stories coming out of GUZ these days? Are they concentrating on anything special during the interviews?

Thanks Again

Dan

Dan - I am worried about you - you are studying P3 packet contents. That bothers me a lot.

You filed an I-130 petition for a spouse residing in China, to the Chicago lockbox address, with an interview for a CR-1 visa to be done in Guangzhou.

I have to assume you are reviewing http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

and are having some confusion.

The ONLY section that applies to yer wife's visa application is IV Appointment Packet (“Packet 4”), towards the bottom.

There is NO PACKET 3 for a petition filed to the Chicago Lockbox. There is a P3 set issued for any I-130 filed via DCF, and you dinna file via DCF.

-----

1. Disregard, not the same visa type

2. Disregard, not the same visa type, or not the same filing processing for the I-130

3. There is excellent chance that yer lass will not receive a packet 4 at all, via postal mail or EMS. The appointment letter comes in the email, she can take that appointment letter --PRINTED OUT-- and with it, handle the medical examination stuff (get the forms from the link in this reply

4. No Such thing, for this visa type.

5. Review again the OF-171 from the link in this post.

6. Medical must be done prior to interview day. Also - anything YOU submitted (except the DS-3032) during NVC processing, must be turned in by HER, all originals (ya, I-864, DS-230, plus all supporting documents. The 'original docs for the DS-230' will be reviewed as well, and the birth certificate and marriage certificate SHOULD BE RETURNED to her - if not, have her ask for it.

----

So, is there anything else you or anyone can think that I need to prepare once I get out of NVC? I am still colling paystubs, will print out any last emails before I go back for the interview.

If I were in yer shoes, I'd make sure that SHE turns in, on interview day, an updated 'evolution of relationship' letter. Make sure there is a paragraph in there covering HOW and in WHAT LANGUAGE you two communicate. Usually, if a ConOff decides there is a language barrier, expect a blue slip about it or an outright denial. No, I'm NOT speaking of 'emails, letters, skype, IM chat, telephone', but specifically LANGUAGE USED and communication ability. Put in that EOR , also, any red flags (review http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/234971-red-flag-list-for-visa-denial/page__hl__appointment )

Also - remember that I-130 petition? In the instructions are 6 types of evidence to submit, for bondafide marriage evidence. Redo your 'pack', bring all current, and make sure you have given her the UPDATED pack right prior to interview day. My initial 'pack' list is over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218775&st=0&p=3324240&hl=Rusticentry3324240 suggest you review yer pack, and update it.

The police certificate has a '1 year duration' on it - so review WHEN the police certificate was issued, compare the issuance date to the interview date (you'll get this in a bit), and IF the time gap is more than 1 year, have her get a new police certificate prior to interview day, to turn in on interview day.

----

Whew!

Thanks, that was a lot... How to start..

When I sent in the DS-230 package I also emailed an updated EOR that was notarized and on the last page before the notary, I put a "outline" of the relationship for easier reading. You mention about them returning the Marriage certificate and birth certificates. As you know I only emailed them a copy, but I assume you are referencing the fact that during the interview they will of course look at these documents. Correct ? As of today they only have email copies of all documents. As far as the bona fide relationship "pack" is concerned the only things i can update are the phone bills, showing how much I've called her, skype sessions and emails. Oh, I guess I can bring a recent bill from the utility companies. And yes, of course recent pay stubs. I've also just received a new employer letter dated the 29th of April 2010. I will get yet another one right before I depart to be with her for the interview.

Her police certificate is good until Feb 2011, so I know we do not have go there again. Lets' see what else.....mmmmmmm

I've printed out several times each medical form and when i was with her I gave her a folder with all medical forms and instructions about vaccinations and anything to do with medical in the one folder for her to take to the medical once we have our interview date.

Yes, that is the website where I was reviewing all forms. I have downloaded all forms and have reviewed them and that is why I had these questions. I want to be assured that I am not missing anything. I tell you this Arthur from NVC... not a nice man at all. Work was really busy so once i get down with this post, I am going to call again. I actually have the number memorized for easier dialing.

Only other things I can think of doing is keep on there butts about my case.. Calling at least three times a day. You just never know what will happen. I received a notice that My emails were read today and that they are saying they have a package in review.. From that comment, it appears that they are "reviewing" our emails with all of the documents.

I guess I can only wait at this point. But I am sure that I can find something to read about, or to double check.

At this point, what else is there to do? Any advice? Anything else I can prepare for the interview? just trying to think ahead.

thank you very much

for your patience

OH,,, you think I should write one more short EOR, Hand written and include the fact that we DO communicate verbally In English???? I was going to write another short one in my own hand writing for her to hand in when she hands over her Passport. Oh, by the way tickets to China for June..... Expensive.... !! ouch !!!

IMO - any EOR submitted with the DS-230 will be tossed at NVC.

--I mentioned that SHE has to show ORIGINALS at GUZ IV Unit, on inteview day. My apologies for any confusion - but - that's the I-864 form, all paperwork for the I864 form; the DS-230 plus ALL ORIGINALS . Sure - they will return marriage certificate (original) and birth certificate (original) to her, but she has to SHOW THEM.

--evidence pack - ok with yer list - but add in more photos of you, her, and her family together.

--re: email that you received about this 'review' - can you repost it here, with biodata info removed?

--what else to read - review the Embassy Reviews for Guangzhou here on VJ. There are some recent LONG ones.

--re: EOR - try to keep it down to 2 pages or less. The ConOff reviews it on interview day, has short attention span for reviewing details, so 'write to yer audience'.

That's it, for now.

I will add about 40 more photos from my trip I just returned on, along with the photos of her and the stepdaughter. YES, the wife has all original documents for the I-864, DS-230, marriage certificate, etc.. All in hand now. Gave to her all documents when I was with her. As far as the Update EOR, you recommend hand written or typed? as I previously mentioned it was suggested that I hand write a short one for the interview.

Lastly after I sent in all documents I received an email with subject "GZO201061XXXX (STD P2U AGENT) in this there is a letter and it's head line is "INSTRUCTION PACKET AGENT" Seems like a document cover sheet after the immigrant visa fee has been paid, sound about right? I've attached a copy of the file. Again thank you very much... I'm sure if i have questions, I'll be writing them down.

Hey Dan - can you try a new attachment? seems the prior one dinna work.

I'll try again once I get home from work. All documents on my personal MAC at home. Do not use a pc.. Now on hold with my buddies at NVC, I think they will begin to know me by my voice.. Any idea of how long it really does take at NVC? I've read a lot where on occasion they pull K1 visa's for "AP" do this do this for CR-1 also? I am asking about how much time at NVC because I've read a lot here where some guys get out within two weeks from the time NVC has their documents.

Thanks again

Just a Note for those who are bored and are reading this. Because I am doing the electronic Processing at NVC, I emailed my I-864 "package" (as they like to call it) one day, and then the very next day I emailed all DS-230 Required documents. The NVC has "combined" all documents into One "package" and according to my last conversation with the nice people at NVC, our documents are now in "review". Can't really put the websters definition to this. But I guess this is good news.

just wanted to share a bit information on this..

'how long does it take at NVC' -

this varies.

NVC 'seems' back to normal, but for March and 3 weeks in April, was massive lag (which I think was due to some internal software changeup)

but -'agent instruction packet' after DS-230 is a good sign.

Prior to March - I could say -

about 1 week after DS-230 submitted via EP, get 'case complete', then about 3 days after 'case complete', get interview scheduled date.

For Now, hard to say, hard to forecast.

What is a "agent instruction packet" ? as you said received after I sent in the DS-230. Also, because they are "currently reviewing" our packages.. could be good news? You should write a book on all of this...
