I, the beneficiary am to fill my G-325A 4 forms and scratching my head for a while as of how to articulate the Employment part of the form: my case is of a combination of self employed and employment activities on this subject including research projects without any income for the time and energy taken to build the concepts, all activities overall showing a progression, (in addition to advanced continuing edu during the same 5yrs frame time), towards a high edu levels, but as independent worker-researcher.

I intend to attach a sheet, but want the paragraph to be short and straight to the point. I would define my case as Hybrid :), meaning that i do not fit much in the forms frames (in the sens of black and white) i have usually to explain my stuff. But I do not want to over explanatory either.

So, i was searching more precise rules about self-employed stuff, but read somewhere that there is not much interest on the part of the officials who treat our petitions, just to make sure if something more specific is available. Anyone has any info or where to search for infos would be greatly appreciated.

Also i would like to make my little input, i have seen some questionning the part in the same G-325A form, what to fill in intitled: This form is submitted in connection with application for: Naturalization, PR, or Other, my opinion being to be very down to earth, i would put: Other:beneficiary for I-130 Petition for Alien relative; in other words i would precise Beneficiary, and my other half, on his own G-325A will put Petitionner for I-130 Petition for Alien relative.

Thanks in advance for your help and attention.

knowledge,

You're going way overboard and thinking too much. Keep it simple - if one gets a paycheck or is self-employed and taking money out or the business for themself, write down the employer or 'self-employed'. If one is a student many people like to write that down. Otherwise, if one is not performing a function that earns money write 'enemployed'.

The G-325A is an obsolescent form that is of little consequence any more, do not attach too much importance to it.

You'll have an opportunity to better explain your employment situation when you have to fill out the visa application forms. Then it may count for something.

Yodrak,

Thank you so much, it relieves a weight from my chest, I agree a think too much, especially as in a 1st step; you help me to clarify something, which is that i have done those activities in the same time sometimes, simultaneously, so often i realize on the forms we have to work to separate things to fill the parts.

And 1 question, for which step of the visa I would have to developp more all this, just to prepare myself in advance.

Thanks again!

knowledge,

DS-230-I asks for occupation and employment for the past 10 years.

DS-156 asks for occupation and for employer's name and address.

DS-157 asks for info about last 2 employers prior to the current employer.

You might want to look at those forms and decide if you need to explain your situation in more detail for any of them.
