Hi everyone,

I just found out that I am scheduled for my AOS interview on September 11 (unfortunate date though it is) - which is great! However, I still haven't gotten my EAD yet. I'm wondering how long after my interview it will be before I can start working with my Green Card.

Right after the interview, does the stamp they put in my pass port allow me to work, or do I have to wait until the card arrives? Any sense of how long I'll have to wait after the interview before I can stop worrying about everything (ie until I get my green card)?

thanks for your help!

A lot of the local offices do not put the stamp in your passport anymore, because the GC's are processed so quickly now. You should receive your GC around 10 days after your interview.

Usually you can start working as soon as your receive your Greencard. Most offices no longer stamp the passport but if you have yours stamped than you can start after that. It is likely if approved at the interview that you will receive your Greencard in a couple of weeks. In some cases there are some information that is still being worked on, which causes a delay in receiving your Greencard. Hope this helps with your inquiry :D
