hmmm, I wouldn't be comfortable with a decision this big being made by only one half of a partnership .....hence, it was BOTH our decisions.

When I met hubby, he was in the process of trying to immigrate to Canada, but was unable to find work or even any jobs to apply for that paid him as well as he was in the U.S., so we decided it would be better..... and a lot easier..... for me to move to the U.S. I can do any kind of administrative work and so the decision was made.

We may move back to Canada one day after retirement.

basically my hubbie. I am very homesick and would like to live in Germany. But I speak english better than he does German and I have a job training completed and he wants to go to university.

But I agreed so here I am.

Both of ours here. Actually no choice. He had the better job, owned his own home and just years away from retirement.

Kind of hard to make a living in what is one of the poorest countries in the world. Especially if the breadwinner doesn't speak the language there. So, it was a mutual decision. Once a sufficient nest egg is built, we are hoping to buy a house on the hill there eventually and enjoy a few good years under the sun.

It was basically my decision.... I knew he wouldn't have been comfortable depending on me even if it would have only been for a short time..... and also I would probably not have been financially stable enough in Canada, in the eyes of the immigration people anyways....

only because financially it made sense for us to live in the US for now. A couple of years down the line, we'll probably try to find the Canadian version of VJ

My idea but now the baby is living the good life and has a job so she can support her family, she has 6 brothers and sisters and her dad doesn't have a job any longer. She is so sweet

Have one small child who has a very close relationship with his dad so it was never even really an option to live anywhere but here. But most likely we will be living in Turkey in less than a decade as well. As long as nothing strange happens over there, like a military coup or something. You never know, anything's possible in Turkey, and that's part of the reason I love it. If we had a way to live in London, that would probably be our ultimate decision. He lived there for 5 years but was on a student visa, never a resident or anything, so we don't really have a way of living there unless we become millionaires and can buy our citizenship. London is fabulous and Istanbul is an adventure. I love them both.

P.S. My husband for some strange reason would prefer to stay here, now that he's here and loves it.

We decided it together, and felt it'd be easier to live here than in India, for many reasons. Here we have family who whole heartedly accepts and supports our marriage (not in India), here we have much less social tension than if we lived in India, & here it's easier to save up the money to visit India instead of living in India and saving the money to visit the US (decent salaries being about 300$ a month in India, imagine how long it'd take to save up a couple thousand dollars to visit the US). I would have moved there though if Sujeet's visa had been denied permanently.

One day we may live in India for periods of time here and there, after we have kids and stuff, to be near Sujeet's family sometimes and maybe help do some kind of orphanage work.
