I believe that the cost of Civil Marriage in the Philippines varies and depends on where you want to get married. To give you an idea, in Manila, it cost Php500 for the judge and Php300 for license including some other paper works (excluding NSO Marriage Cert.) Just a tip, beware of fixers. They will pull your arm and leg with the money they would ask to arrange your marriage and paper works. They would ask for thousands of pesos.

I noticed on your profile that you are filing for K1? If you are planning to get married in the PH then K1 is not the right visa to apply. You should apply for K3 or CR1 :)

Good Luck on your visa journey! :)

I assume that since they applied for a K-1 they mean after the arrival of the fiance in the US.

The answer is $60 in Honolulu at the following.

hm... interesting. my mom's friend's sister is a judge in QC. when i went and asked her these things before i got married. she told me the marriage license fees vary AND you don't have to pay the judge...??

thinking about it now, it could be she meant she was waiving her fee for me? but then again, i doubt that because i told her about this other judge from another place asking a fee of 10k to do the wedding. her eyes grew and she firmly said NO YOU DON'T PAY THE JUDGE ANYTHING! :star:

We had a Minister do our wedding, we paid a total to him of 1000php which covered his fee, and the license fees. This was in QC as well. Watch out for the buzzards at City hall though. As soon as they see a foreigner walk in they will try to take your money to process the license faster. We got suckered out of an additional 2500 to the guy at City Hall. Was kind of worth it though to see the mobile courtroom bus out front. :)

I remember our experience in Quezon City hall. We came from the US embassy to get theCertificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage , then straight to the City Hall to apply for the Marriage license and then attended the seminar after lunch . We didn't hire a fixer to get things faster, I just talked to the people conducting the seminar,I told them that I needed to finish the seminar that day cause we already have a wedding date, they saw that me and my partner are really eager and sincere to have that seminar so they just put extra seats in the seminar room, kicking.gif .The people in the City Hall are educated and very helpful, you just need to present yourself as decent/educated and not like cheap bar girl marrying a foreign national. We finished everything in just one day! We just came back to get the license after some working days and get married the next day.

I actually take offense to this statement. My wife is NOT a cheap bar girl marrying a foreign national. We have been together for over 5 years. Which is about 5 years longer than most of the guys on this site have known their significant others. I may be uneducated as to the Filipino culture, but all it took was one trip to learn that everything in their government is based on lining someone's pockets with coin.

The reason we went to the guy at city hall was because I was only in the Philippines for 3 weeks, and the normal time it takes to get the license was too long. So basically we paid to expedite the process so we could have time to plan a decent wedding, and enjoy the countryside.

I didn't mean to offend you or anybody here in VJ, I didn't say that your wife is a cheap bar girl. But if you feel offended well then I am sorry if you misunderstood my point here. I don't want to explain further on my point cause I don't feel it's necessary .

We may be just lucky to be able to get things done in one day without paying extra or approaching a fixer to do things faster.

I was able to show my husband of the good culture of the Philippines the hospitality, helpfulness and kindness of people .kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

And he loves the people he appreciates our culture .good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

It is not nice to judge any person dear just because of their social status… :bonk:
