President Obama will be getting letters from some Newark students urging him to quit smoking.

"Dear President Obama,

You need to stop smoking. You are setting a bad example for our country. I was a member of Just Say No for 2 years. I am now a member of Youth to Youth, another drug-free program, and DARE. They are great programs. If you smoke, you could die or get cancer. It's a bad influence on your daughters. A lot of stuff can happen to you like brain cancer, lung cancer and a lot others. It will be the right thing to do for America if you stop smoking. Please take my advice. You will be happier and healthy and have a lot more energy."

[student]'s letter is among the 40 going to Obama from the Just Say No club. Although...a middle school student, he still attends some of the Just Say No meetings at John Clem Elementary.

It has been around for 23 years and while many schools no longer have such an organization, John Clem Elementary has kept their group alive all these years.

Nancy Reagan came up with the idea in 1987 and Julie Hawkinberry, who was instrumental in getting the club going at John Clem at that time, continues to share the important "Just Say No" message with students.

"We talk about making good choices in life, including those in which we might say 'no' to drugs, alcohol and tobacco," Hawkinberry said. "We have so many ways to do this, including informational meetings, service projects and skits," she added.

The group meets each month and about 50 students participate.

Sure it's fun when the Left does these sorts of things to Lefties but really, this is silly, in fact Ibet'cha anything some of the folks putting the kids up to this and some of the kids themselves are little Pork-pies which is a heck of a lot more unhealthy than Obamas occasional Smoke.

Fixorring is fun. Especially when we align youth-for-Obama movements with their historical forbears, right Bill?
