Canadians moving to Arizona

Hey, I want to start this thread for any of us Canadians moving to beautiful Arizona in order to exchange ideas, thoughts, a few laughs or whatever comes to mind. Anyone already an Arizona resident is most welcome to post.

I'm hoping to be down there by August or September but it all depends of course on NVC and then the Embassy. Lots of things to consider ie selling my house, moving all my effects, importing two vehicles, storage, looking for work, buying a house blah blah blah.....

I'm not a canadian but a filipina. If you are coming here in August or September, expect hot weather. To simulate this, try heating up your oven to 400 degrees F then open it. Its dry heat here but only for 3 months and the remaining 9 months are awesome. Been here for 1 year and 4 months. So far, i like it here.

Not a Canadian, but a Brit moving this summer, to Tucson specifically. There's at least 4 of us that I can think of that are in AZ, or moving back to it in one case. 1 in Phoenix, 2 in Tucson (once I get there!) and can't remember where exactly JamalnTam (I think her member name is) is heading, but she was in Tucson when she first landed stateside.

Yeah, the heat is impressive! Spent the summer out there last year and was sad to leave the sunshine behind. I'm sure it gets old quickly, but there's just a beautiful vibe to being there. Very nicely paced and the people are awesome. I've never felt more at home that in Tucson, and I've lived in several different countries throughout the course of my life.

Hey Rheanick, I've been down many times and have spent 5 weeks in summer. Yes it's very hot but I love it hot. I've been there in practically every month of the year with the exception of May, Septmeber and November. I'm looking forward to getting down there. The valley of the sun to be sure.

Hi there, Tucson is great. My inlaws and my wife's family is there. Great place to be. My wife is in Phoenix. We've been going back and forth as to where we'll end up landing in the end. Like you, I love the pace, the feel, the heat, and the people - great restaurants too haha.
