Hello to all of you !!

I need some information about driving in USA.. Is my driving license from Québec gonna be ok, and for how long? When can I apply for a state driving license there? (I'm gonna move to Texas!!) To have a car insurrance there, does it matter that i'm an immigrant or it's easy to find? And when do i need to register my car there to have a Texas immatriculation number (Plaque, don't know the word in english for that, the 6 numbers behind your car :P) Can i keep my Québec's one for a while?

You should check with Quebec and also with dept of motor vehicles in Texas to be sure about coverage. You usually have 30 days coverage from your regular insurer after you leave Canada. Again double check. That's the case in BC. You'll need to get your social security number and driver's license in Texas asap and take care of that. Usually you have about 30 days.

Some states require that you re-do the drivers exam (bummer, I know). You will really have to ask the DMV in your state. Some states want the SSN card, and others will take the GC stamped in your passport. Its really state specific.
