From what I know, you need a birth certificate issued by NSO on security paper. In able for your mother to have an NSO copy, you need to go to your local civil registrar and tell them of your intention. They will tell you the step by step procedure in getting this done.

Hi!

I will send my I-130 petition for my mom and my dad next month. If you don't mind I have some questions.

1. From start (Sent I-130) to your mom's interview how long is the processing (many months)?

2. Just very curious... did the US Embassy in Manila allowed you to go inside with your mom at the interview room?

3. Also, did you went with your mom inside St Luke during her medical?

My mom is 71 y.o and my dad is 76 y.o both are in good health. I'm just worried coz both only speak few tagalog. My dad speak fearly good English but my mom only very little.

Thanks,

Princess

Sure hope you people who are trying to bring their elderly parents here can afford the medical care for them here.

Sometimes it works out they can get better care in the Philippines staying with family.

Most people in the US don't have time to care for them as they have to work our buttes off just to maintain our own trip. That includes sending bucks back to PI for health care for the family.

That's our trip anyway.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

My husband and I can afford to get medical insurance for my parents. My hubby make more than 100,xxx thousand and I make more than 40,xxx thousand. Our annual income is about 150, 000 or more a year.

There's no problem if my parents wants to go back (PI) and forth on immigrants visa. Money is not an issue at all.

how come, well my mother born 1940, when is your mom born! i guess you guys situation was easy mind was so complicated. well i just called my sister in the philippines to find out what happen when she went to nso my sister said that mom was issued the BC the one thing a big mistake was the year of birth its says over there in the paper was 1944 and my mom born 1940. now i dont know what happen why they put on there 1944 instead 1940 but my sister said mom was late registration. but in the civil registrar municipality something like she got a record 1940 how come the nso putting 1944 where they came from that. well nso adviced that get attorney wow...i dont know what to do.

Greetings!

All you have to do is go back to the civil registrar and ask for the endorsement to NSO, they then will tell you to forward the documents that they prepared along with the correct fees and the return postage to be sent to Manila,NSO.NSO will send you the copy of birth certificate printed on security paper.

P.S.

please call them ahead, because this is what we did last 2005 and im not sure if at this time it is updated but if you live near manila then all you have to do is take it there and just have to wait. after all they only have to print that birth certificate from local registrar to be printed in NSO security paper.

my mom's birthday and name on her birth certificate (born 1950) were both wrong. that's why i still can't send the DS230 because she's still waiting for her passport which got delayed because she still needed to "fix" her birth certificate.

I forgot what she did to "fix" her B.Cert. but it was a long and tedious process that included having the city of Manila posting something in a newspaper or something like that to correct her B. Cert., then waiting and waiting and waiting for several months until NSO got the "correct" certificate from the City of Manila (were my mom was born).

BTW, she never used an attorney.
