I just verified with the US Custom Border Control that I had been outside US for over a year during 2007 (exactly 1 year + 1 week). However, on G-325a I did not tell USCIS that I had resided in vietnam for over 1 year. My case is currently at NVC and they already received my DS-230. Please advised me what i should do next?

Thanks

So how long did you state you were in Vietnam, on the DS-230? I ask because I am assuming it is close to a year - what you originally recollected.

My advice would be to get the police check from Vietnam, then you can correct your error at the interview stage. Simply explain to them that you were going on your best recollection, you realized you had made a mistake. You can either ask that they correct the DS-230 you sent in, or fill out a new one and have it with you at the interview. Present that with your PC from Vietnam and you should be fine.

Good luck.

Trailmix,

I am a petitioner, so DS-230 doesnot apply to me.

did you note where you lived on your G325 for that period of time you were in VN?

Because I thought I was in VN for about a year 11-12 months, did not expect it carried over a year, I left blank on the part "period outside Us for over a year" on G325. For past several years, I had been staying in VN for 11-12 months per year for physical therapy.

The G-325A is a general purpose biographical form used for both petitioner and beneficiary. Whether or not the petitioner has been outside the US for a year or more is not a material fact because it has no bearing in whether they are eligible to file a petition. I wouldn't worry about it. Since your petition is already approved, I also wouldn't try to correct it.
