Hello and thanks for all the advice people give me. I have been in a three year relationship with my fiancee from the Philippine, and just got back from seeing her. To my surprise I find out that I am affected by the Adam Walsh Act, from something that happened 10 years ago or longer. Was convicted in 2000, but actually happened three years before that. I had sex with a girl that lied about her age, she was 14 at the time but I had meet her family and everything. She stayed with me one weekend and we had sex like five times, and I told the police everything when they come to question me. She was accusing me of rape, but eventually after she found out the trouble she cause she told the truth. The truth was we had been seeing one another for three months, she lied about her age, and she consented to sex. She was going to be in trouble with her parents so she told them I raped and kidnapped her. I ended up getting indecent liberties with a minor, but I got five accounts for every time we did something. Yes I took a plea, because I know it was wrong even though I did not know her age at the time. Then in 2003 I had a child by another girl who was two years younger then me, and I don't think it falls under the Adam Walsh act. She ended up married, put her husbands name on the birth certificate, and still allowed me and my mother to see my child. However we found out that her husband had no idea she was allowing us to see the child, and I got a Second degree Kidnapping charge. Again due to my past,I ended up taking a plea. I know it dose not look good for me and my fiancee, but she knows about all the charges and is 33 years old, we have no problem proving a three year relationship. I am wanting some advice on how to go about getting her here, and if anyone knows a good attorney! All advice will be greatly appreciated, hope to get some good help!

The best and only advice I or anyone should give you is talk with an attorney that deals with this type of situation(s)

You'll need a sharp lawyer, but even then, the government is moving like molasses in cases like yours. Adam Walsh is still too new a law, and they're walking on eggs to carry it out. It seems taht oen way to do that, is to put your petition in a different pile of papers to be looked at when they have a break.

Basically it seems they fear any recurrence of a molestation that will get media and thus congressional attention. The lawyer can help you develop whatever evidence is available that you are not any kind of threat to society.
