What's the best way to write the address?

Last one I mailed to Russia looked like this:

RUSSIA (wrote that on top of the address so the sorting facility here in U.S. knows where it's going)

Иван Петров

ул. Строителей д. 2, кв.12

г. Гадюкино

Российская Федерация

12345

Слава Україні!

The person sending it doesn't know Russian and wouldn't be able to address it like that.

ugh.... can you translate for them? If it's addressed in English you are running a 50/50 chance of it never being delivered..... That combined with a 50/50 chance of ANYTHING being delivered in Russia it might not be worth it.

But, I guess, if I had to write it in English I'd do this:

Ivan Petrov

Neverwhere Street 666, Apt. 23

Bumblefuck

Russian Federation

12345

Слава Україні!

I've had stuff written in English arrive fine--I think in St. Petersburg they're a little more used to international mail than they would be in Bumblefuck, Provincialand. I just forget how the people wrote it.

Yeah, you are right. If the package is going to Piter you'll be fine no matter the language.

Слава Україні!

What's the best way to write the address?

Same as within the USA except adding "Russia" at the end of the address. I've sent numerous cards and letters. Packages I usually send DHL but the USPC should be OK too.

Just my two cents!! I have sent cards and packages, from the USPS and it takes an extremely long time to get there. My mail was sent close to Kursk, Russia (South of Moscow), I even had two cards sent back for insuffucuent postage, mailed from the post office itself!!!
