My Fiance was planning on taking her medical early this week. But i have seen in other forums about St Lukes taking the passport and fowarding to USEM. We are planning on meeting in Singapore at the end of this week and she also has plans to go to Hong Kong the following week and therfore needs her passport. Will she be able to take the medical and keep her passport?

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

against all that we must face in this world.

That is correct. However, there are cases where st. lukes would let you bring the entire packet with you to the USEM... typically when your scheduled interview is only a day or 2 away from when you get your medical results... i don't advise that you do this as there could be some unforeseen circumstances that you might run in to. i'm sure you wouldn't want any further delay on the entire process.

have you called st. lukes to ask? when is your interview date?

Normally, after the beneficiary completes the medical, St. Lukes will forward the beneficiary's passport to the USEM in time for the interview.

However, there are exceptions to this rule. One exception is when the medical is completed too close to the beneficiary's interview appointment. When this happens, St. Lukes does not have enough time to send the passport to the USEM before the interview. In this circumstance, St. Lukes returns the passport to the beneficiary and the beneficiary is responsible for bringing the passport to the interview.

I have read more than one post here on VJ where the beneficiary simply informed St. Lukes during their medical that they needed to take their passport to the interview when the interview was only a couple / few days away. St. Lukes seems to be able to accommodate this type of request by the beneficiary.

Will St. Lukes return your passport to you because you need it to travel? My guess is: yes. However, I would call them and find out for certain.

Have have a good time in Singapore and Hong Kong...and good luck with your medical and your interview! :star:
