NEW ORLEANS -- Mitt Romney won the straw poll at the Southern Republican Leadership conference here Saturday in a victory that will be taken as a sign of the former Massachusetts governor's strength as a 2012 presidential candidate.

That's because the 2008 GOP presidential hopeful elected to skip the conference to continue his book tour.

Romney triumphed by a single vote over Ron Paul, who took second place 439 votes to 438. Both men won 24 percent of the vote. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich essentially tied for third with 18 percent of the vote each.

Obama is a novice, but Obama graduated from a top law school so at least he is proven smart. Some undeserving black men get to top law schools, but they don't finish because they can't handle the gift they received. Obama, as President, also has a lot of experts by his side. I wonder who is by Palin's side when she is spewing all that bullshiit?

Obama is no less a novice than Bill Clinton had to be and considering his age, John Kennedy had to be.

True, I think we will be hearing from her for a long long time unfortunately. I say unfortunately because she really isn't an expert on anything yet the media is giving her attention as if she has broad experiences. This is embarrassing. I mean, it is okay short term, but to let someone with as little experiences as her go on and on is embarrassing.

After she is a "potential presidential candidate" she'll get a show on Fox. She can sell BS, she looks good, she is outspoken, she can even be funny so media executives already love her. She is a great fit for Fox, but I'd not be surprised to see her elsewhere. She is all about the money so whoever folks over the most cash gets her.

And let's be honest, if she didn't have great looks, she would not still be front and center. The media loves pretty people.

McCain came as close as he did only because of Palin. If the Palin-effect on the RWN's continues and is coincidental with depressed progressive turnout, then that could very well translate to President (Todd) Palin.
