No, I think it was you who dug up Reagan and you who believed he'd lose to Obama. I gave up a long time ago expecting to you qualify your more claims but I tried to explain it to to at least put a shred of doubt into your one of your hardened beliefs.

I assumed you wouldn't make up your birthday February 16, 1978 on your profile so you would have been 10 years old during Reagan's last year in office. I also assumed you weren't living in the U.S. at the time. You must have been one very astute follower of international politics back then.

It's a bad habit of mine to take you seriously. It was a combination of Bush's (who wasn't running for office) low approval numbers, bad economic news right before the election and an old establishment guy running against a young minority nobody with a slick campaign. The Democrats could have won with a cardboard cutout which is what they did anyway. Obama's going to be in a similar position as Bush only Obama's decline happened much faster unless things change drastically.

It's not exactly a tangent when the word "Obama" appears in the thread title.
