Parents decision according to their beliefs.

I vote yes for health reasons because that's what I plan to have done on my son if/when I have one someday.

Totally agree.... if/when we have a baby boy we'll have it done to him too! I grew up in a country where it's not common to have that surgery done. I grew up changing diapers of baby boys (cousins, neighbors, friends of the family....) and to me seeing an uncircumcised boy was normal. Only after I met Dave I stopped to think about it and realized the baby on the cover of Nevermind (that Nirvana album) was circumcised!!! I had never seen a baby like that..... lol

But after looking it up and talking to Dave about it, I think that I'll choose to have it done because it's healthier, easier to clean.... and seriously, I have heard of a lot of people wanting to have a surgery to remove it after they're old enough to decide... but never heard of someone wanting to reattach it  hehe

And the last reason is that it looks better IMO, even though it doesn't say anything about a guy's performance.... :P

I voted "yes-for health reasons".

My 5 year old son had the surgery when he was 18 months old.I wanted the doc to do it right after he was born, but here in Germany that's a big NO NO.

I wanted them to have it done for several reasons, such as health reasons and (thinking that even my BABY will one day be a grwon man and has a life of his own......with a girlfriend or wife), looks and honestly also for sexual reasons.Men that do't have their foreskin anymore simply last longer since that sensitive part of their bodies is used to a certain amount of "touch" by lets say the underwear.

May sound weird, but that's my opinion.

Met on May 17,2005

Got engaged on Sep 15th,2006

Came to the US for good on Jan 27th,2009

and we got married on March 28th,2009

GOD , grant me the serenity

to accept the things I can not change

the courage to change the things I can

and the wisdom to know the difference!

I'm a bit late to this discussion, but in my time, I've been with both an uncircumcised and circumcised man. My current fiancee' is uncircumcised and in general, he lasts far longer than my ex ever did. My ex had to use a lotion with a topical anestetic to last at all, which to be honest is really sad.

Personally, if we have any sons, they will not be circumcised. If they have health problems that develop, or wish to when they are older, that is their decision, but it will be our repsonsibility to keep that clean when the child is young, and to teach him now to clean it properly when he gets older. As for men being too 'lazy' to clean it right, you just teach them to develop good cleaning habbits at a young age.

In my opinion, it is natural, people are born with it for a purpose. The medical professionals are just now affirming that it should not be removed unless there are health troubles. By the same principal many are using, that it could cause problems... we should all have our apendixes, galbladders and a bunch of other organs removed at birth. Why? because it -could- cause problems in the future. I'm sorry, I just don't buy into that.

*shrugs*

As for the cosmetic reasons... seriously, if your son's boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't like how his ####### looks and would dump him for it, then they really aren't the type who would stick through a long term relationship in the first place.

Health? In this day and age?

Hmmm... I wasn't aware we had eradicated disease and illness from the planet as of yet...

Hygiene-related disease and illness? 100%!

Personally myself, I had a preference for circumcised willies as I would never go near a natural one.

You must have had a hard time finding sex partners in Australia since most men over there are uncircumcised...

Since when lol Circumcision was just as popular here as anywhere else until they put a stop to the practice for newborns back in the 80's. I have always tended to stay away from those in there teens and twenties. Pleanty around in 30's 40's ;)
