Hello all

I received an RFE a few days ago from the NVC due to a 10 month gap in my wife's dates of residence which we didn't catch upon our review on the DS-230 Part 1 and some issues with the birth and divorce certificate we sent in. Anyway, we are almost finished resolving these issues and will send back what they requested next week. I asked the NVC operator how long it would take once they receive the revised DS-230 and new certificates and she gave me an answer of 6-8 weeks! I'm assuming this is just a "canned response" to cover themselves in case of an unexpected delay. Can I expect about the same wait time (8-11 days) as though I'm sending it all in like the first time. I would think this wouldn't go to the back of the line due to the RFE, but rather just sits in a special cue until what they need arrives and then they continue processing it. Any info would be appreciated or anyone who has dealt with an RFE from NVC would be great!

Thanks!

Pacmatrx,, Sachinky is right..My RFE did take 11 days to be exact..

I beg to differ.....the new process is 6-8 weeks! It took my case exactly 7 weeks after they received the ONE document I forgot to include (copy of my husbands passport). I have been told by the NVC operators that they are looking at RFE info just as if it were a brand new case. In the meantime of my case being reviewed a second time...the requirements have changed and now I got a 2nd RFE for an updated police report. So, I guess they are correct in saying that the whole file is reviewed when they get the Requested evidence.

You may or may not have noticed that you inadvertently replied to a post made on April 10, a post that is nearly 4 months old.

It should be quite clear to you that 'timelines' reported are only accurate in the 'time that they are posted.' NVC, just like USCIS, goes through 'slow and quick' phases.
