APRIL 2010 (I-130) FILERS

Okay we got another approval for the March filers and it seems that the ball is rolling again according to touches however the processing times at this stage are at least 5 months. If that's the case then we should definitely be getting approvals in Sept. I wouldn't count on this month though. So now I'm looking into traveling plans to visit my honey for the holidays because I know he won't have his visa in hand by then :-( Let us all be patient and be happy in our thoughts that the new year will be full of celebrations in uniting with our loved ones :-)

Yup now 137 days completed today. Sent an email out to NCSC about it and they said u have u r within the processing time. So I cant do anything but wait till sep 2 when i hit the dreadful 150 day mark. And the worst part is, i leave to see my wife on sep 3 for a week, so if dont get before that, i will have to wait another 10 days before I can contact NCSC or USCIS. This does really suck but what can we do.

when you get touched could be a good sign that someone looked at ur case. Not sure if it is because they are working on it or something else.

I went from the first touch in March 19 or something like that, ( right after the notice date on the letter, you see a touch ) and nothing more. I received a notice in the mail, NOA-2 last month saying my wife was approved. Yesterday, I logged on to the USCIS website, because I am still waiting for my step son's papers, and her case is still at initial, no touch's or anything, still on the same date in March, but yet she has been approved. Hopefully you get touch's, that will certainly boost your hopes. Make sure you check the snail mail daily.

If you look at the uscis website it says that the I-130 is taking an average of 5 months. That timeline has fluctuated over the past few months from 3 to 4 then 5 months. My guess is that there are fewer people working in the immigration offices due to the economy and downsizing. Most of us have not yet reached that 5 month mark so try to be patient and your time will come.

How can you guys tell if your application was touched?

USCIS website lets you set up an account to keep track of your case. You can also setup email alerts and mobile text for when activity happens to your case. They don't email or send alerts for touches. Alerts only go out for status changes. I login every once and awhile and to my surprise my case was last updated on August 12 but no status change which basically means it was accessed or touched. A relative of a friend has told me that April cases are starting to get some movement finally.

Okay. Well, my app was last touched on July 8th, because I did a change of address form online. But, my NOA 1 date is April 9th and my app hasn't been touched since July 8th. But I see people on here with NOA 1 dates after mine (California Service Center?) who have gotten touches.

Okay, I wasn't sure if there was some separate type of notification. Yes, I have an account that I check about every 3 - 4 days.

UGH! This waiting is excruciating! I've already given up on our Visa being issued in October or November. Now I'm hoping for December 31st so I can file my taxes as married.

Or, does it not matter if my husband is here by Dec 31st, as long as we were married prior to Dec 31st and he's here by the time I file my taxes? Hmmm...I'm going to call the IRS tomorrow.
