co-sponsor ???

My wife and I were married a month ago in the U.S. We are going to file an i-130 and i-485, etc. for adjustment of her status. My income does not meet the guidelines but my parents have agreed to be a co-sponsor. The language in the instructions for form i-864 says joint sponsor "in the same household". What does this mean? If my parents do not live with us they cannot be joint sponsors? Can someone please explain A.S.A.P.

Read ALL the I-864 instructions for a comprehensive understanding. They are excellent. "A" parent can be a "joint" sponsor. They need not be a household member but can be.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
