AP on Hold?!?!??!

My fiance had his interview on Feb 22nd, 2010 at the Riyadh Consulate. They put him on AP and told him not to contact him and they will contact him. He needed to get his passport sorted and they said when we call you then send us your passport. well we were waiting for them to call but we were also calling them. Finally i emailed 3 days ago and got a response back. We were told that our AP is on hold until they receive the passport. Well how the heck are we supposed to know that wen they never called us or gave us any information. My fiance as ready to send his passport. So what does it mean that AP is on hold? Whenever I would call DOS they told me that its in Administrative Processing. Man i dunno what to say? WE cant read their minds... ughh.. anyone have any occurence with AP being on hold?

Just a theory.. but here is our case it may help. They finished my hubby's AP and final review, and we had sent them his passport with the RFE documents they requested. So, then we called after a week since they had told him case was finished AP. Then they said case was BACK in AP. I have since read several posts of people who were requested by Embassy to submit passport, and then it takes "Additional Processing" after Passport is submitted. It takes about 41-45 days to get the passport with visa back. That, I believe is the processing they are referring to. So, don't stress too much. Take care.
