I just saw this news on the USCIS website "USCIS Transitions the Intake Function from the Service Centers to its Lockbox Network for Several Benefit Requests"

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=097fb85dc4bc8210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

It includes I-129f. Although it is sad to think about, maybe USCIS sent our applications to one of these lockboxes....ugh! Maybe that is also why they extended the K1 processing time from 5 to 6 months. OUCH!

Even in light of this news, maybe April will see some action this week...I hope.

Here is the article pasted below:

WASHINGTON - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced that it will be transitioning the intake function of several more forms from the Service Centers to its Lockbox network. By centralizing form and fee intake to a Lockbox environment, USCIS will improve consistency and integrity in the intake process.

The forms scheduled for the transition:

* I-817, Application for Family Unity Benefits (If filing under section 301 of the Immigration Act of 1990);

* I-526, Immigrant Petition by Alien Entrepreneur ;

* I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status (Only those filed separately from the I-129);

* I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiance ;

* I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker.

The transition will start mid-May with the Service Centers forwarding applications to the USCIS Dallas and Phoenix Lockbox facilities for processing. In June, USCIS will post the revised filing instructions, update the web page for each form, and announce the address change with a USCIS Update.

Throughout the transition period and up to the point where USCIS formally announces the new filing addresses, customers with concerns should contact the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

So what does all this mean!!!!! :o

Sounds to me like this only impacts the processing of the check, so this should only be for new applications? Could explain why there haven't been any activity from the CSC the last week and a half, though.

Late March filer here, wishing I had submitted my paperwork a week or two ahead of time! Very frustrating...

Yep, hard to know exactly what it means... hate to say it but I envisioned CSC sending our apps to Dallas or Phoenix before CSC can do anything else with them. Don't ask me why I thought that. :bonk: However, it does say "forwarding in mid May" so maybe it means all apps that come there way are forwarded to Dallas and Phoenix from mid May onwards.

Anyway, according to VJ stats, CSC was consistently giving NOA2's each week to about 15 to 20 apps until last week when they gave an NOA2 only to only one app on VJ. Something seems to have happened last week to halt the process. We will probably never know for sure what the problem was.

So I just called to check what this new change means. It means that only future applications will be sent to the lock boxes and then will be further sent to the appropriate services centers. She didn't say why they were doing this but that if your application has already been at the California Center and started being processed there, it will continue to be processed there ( not at any other lock boxes of sorts). Now hopefully California is speedy and gets some NOA2's out! Good Luck all :)
