0h gosh, not again.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

NBC News reported that a half hour before landing, an air marshal smelled smoke and confronted a man emerging from a bathroom who claimed he was trying to set his shoes on fire.

It was uncertain if anything actually was on fire or if this was a joke, NBC reported. Investigators were looking to see what might be in his shoes.

Sources told NBC News that the passenger who was subdued was a Qatari diplomat.

After the pilot declared an emergency, military jets scrambled and escorted the jet into Denver, where the plane remains in a secure area, NBC affiliate WRC reported.

Oh great, Diplomats are now "suspect"? This will have reverse implications for US Diplomats going forward. Having served overseas as a US Diplomat for 5 years, I really felt comfortable that the international Diplomatic corps were above this type of low life behavior. What will be next.....

Nevermind.

A Qatari diplomat sneaking a smoke in an airplane bathroom sparked a bomb scare Wednesday night on a flight from Washington to Denver, law enforcement officials said.

The passenger was detained by a federal air marshal, but no explosives were found and it's believed the man meant no harm, senior law enforcement officials said.

Wow... what an idiot....Wondering if he got immunity for the infraction or will get PNG'd (Persona non Grata).

Glad to hear the Diplomatic corp is intact, at least from suspicious (terrorism related) activity!!!

Another reason why smoking sucks.

Smoking is not the relevant issue here, self control is. Plain and simple. He could have done a number of things to "ring the bell" on an aircraft, as proven over and over again.

Serial arsonists set fire to structures for sexual release. I wonder if bombers (definitely not suicide bombers) do the same-- they keep bombing people and places for sexual gratification.
