We are students too applying for AOS. I am sure the IO will see the tax returns of your USC spouse and be convinced that he has limited financial means to obtain property. My tax returns shows about $2000 in my income tax returns for the past 3 years, plus we got letters from school stating we are full time students. Heck I cant even afford my own apartment, so we are staying with our parents until we find a job.

My USC husband is also a full time student doing his master's degree, though he is lucky that he has a flexible full-time job. I am going to assume that you have a co-sponsor for the I-864? Otherwise if you didn't, then you are not going to be approved for AOS. If you do, then you are ok. My husband and I don't own a lot of assets either. We rent our apartment and his car is being paid off. All we own are our belongings in our apartment. What you own is not what they care about, it is only the income you have access to.

As long as your have a co-sponsor on board, all you need to worry about is having enough evidence to prove that your marriage is legitimate and your lives are mingled together.

We are in the same boat, although we saved enough money in the bank and my wife has an on-campus job that makes our savings meet the I864 poverty guidelines. I can't give much feedback, because we sent the application in on March 28th and have had zero feedback or progress thus far... =/

Hey everyone,

Wow it's so good to hear we aren't the only college students! :D I'm a graduating senior (graduation will be June 13) and my husband isn't a student but is waiting to get permission to work. Anyways, our AOS was received April 7, so we're waiting for our hardcopy of the NOA1 and the biometrics appointment letter. I didn't work these 3 years but my friend is co-sponsoring us so hopefully that's all that matters. I was wondering what everyone is planning on using for proof of marriage (besides photos and the marriage certificate).

All we sent in was evidence of joint bank account, lease agreement with both our names (although it was my wife's maiden name, we weren't married when we moved in) and a vet bill for our cat that has both of our names on it. That's all we have. We are on the same auto insurance and phone bill but both of those are on my wifes parents plan. And as far as utilities and things go, it's all my wifes name even though a lot of the payments are made with my bank account. We were just hoping we had given enough to get to the interview and then if they require more we can explain it to them.

Hi, me and my husband also met in school. we filed after my graduation, but he is still a student now. He is the UCS and even though he works as an intern, he also gets paid by the US Army, so his income was enough to support me - at least on paper lol, money is never enough.

We talked a lot but not because they questioned us a lot. My husband just likes telling stories. I think the lady could tell that our marriage was real and she was very nice. Asked a few random questions. Just about our lives, asked my husband about the military, about our college degrees, it is more like a conversation rather than q&a session. I actually liked it a lot lol ;)
