I-134 for fiancee *and* sponsor?

My Fiancee will be using a joint sponsor for the I-134 for the whole "amount" - Does she still need to fill in an I-134 as well as the person who will be the co-sponsor?

Yes - the US citizen fiance will be the sponsor no matter of income (so will have to complete an affidavit of support and supply any/all supporting documents/evidence).

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here. Please post your interview experiences in the review section.

YMMV

USCIS shouldn't try to tell you what DOS will want. I would esp. question that advice if you got it from the 800 (MIS)information line.

London (and most all other consulates) use the I 134 for K visas.

Sorry, i should re-iterate, they told me that the fiancee doesn't need to fill an i-134 in if there is a co sponsor. DOS told me they do, and they don't normally accept co sponsors... :(

The petitioner always submits an affidavit of support regardless of income. While the I-134 does not any provision for co-sponsorship, most consulates will accept/evaluate an I-134 from another qualified sponsor.

Do you know what question 11 on the form should have in it then for the petitioner?

For those going through London specifically and contrary to the example form I-134 on VJ - folks have said you should check "Do Not Intend".

More information on London specifics can be found in the regional forums - THIS is a link to a 2010 London Interview thread that might be helpful.

'allowing a co-sponser' is Embassy/Consulate/Country specific.

Most do. Some frown on it, some absolutely do not allow it.

If I were in yer shoes, I'd scour that embassy website and find out. Failing that, I'd find a VJ member that DID use a co-sponser for the I-134 at the same Embassy where YOUR interview will take place.

It's easy to find VJ members in the portal area, is really country specific.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Many thanks.

I'm still amazed at the number of folks who come here looking for definitive answers after asking misinformed "official" sources and then want to argue with the answers they get. The petitioner is the primary sponsor even if they have no income. Answer questions on forms truthfully, when asked about income, give the actual number of dollars. Zero is a number.

The official sources at both the state and USCIS contradicted each other until we asked them to check again. So far as the info shows, the person giving the support fills in a support form, hence the question as to whether the person not giving support would have to fill in a support form.

Please don't make out that this is so simple, though i appreciate your answer.

It IS simple. You complicated it for yourself by asking misinformed and uninformed "official" sources. The official source to rely on is the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Consulate where the visa will be applied for. Often then information here is more reliable than that. Unless you're talking to somebody that actually approves visas, you're likely to get uninformed answers. Your experience illustrates that perfectly. No?
