any others with this..experience.?.. whats a CFO,.. D'oh..how could we have missed this..needed doc....from sooo excited to...omgosh..:P

she cant board the plane without cfo stamp on her passport check the website for more info http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

03.14.2011 -------I-751 sent overnight

03.15.2011 -------package says "Delivered"

03.30.2011 -------ASC Appointment Notice Received

04.22.2011 -------Biometrics Appointment

08.29.2011--------APPROVED! GC RECEIVED!

CFO = Commission on Filipinos Overseas

It's runs a seminar that all intending immigrants must do:

The PDOS is a brief, two-hour seminar on settlement issues and concerns such as finding employment, rights and obligations of immigrants as well as policies and procedures on how to secure foreign citizenship. The Peer Counseling Seminar is a special session for those with ages 13 to 19 years, which aims to prepare them emotionally for the adjustments they will have to take.

Basically they are prepping the immigrant with all the rules/laws/procedures that they have available when they go abroad.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

So you missed your flight??? You should be aware of the CFO thing as it has been asked gazillion times here in PI forum.

yes I-10 she missed her flight...asked many tyms in the PI forum..?, when i search it..i only see.. myb 5 threads.. all old dates..and YES we missed this needed doc' didnt see it in any of the requirements b4 travel...ooops..:P.

It's good to see your sense of humor is still intact inspite of the fiasco.

I remember in 2007 when I received my visa that there was a notice from the US Embassy about attending the CFO. Not sure if they still enclosed that note.

well im calmer now..earlier i was a wreck..headbonk.gif , but anna says she mentioned it 2 me..n she says i said u dont need that.." i think its only 4 married coulpe already"....well now...i guess we can add this...2 the journey...lols.....

hello...yeah,u need that before u leave in PI,i encountered that during my cfo seminar one girl was on her flight already but they ask her stamp on her passport,so she don't know wat cfo means tha's y she dont have it, and she missed her flight....mine was the day my flight at 7pm i went to cfo in the morning to make sure :thumbs: ...GOODLUCK TO BOTH OF U GUYS..GODBLESS

Well, I am glad you can see past the mistake... This is the first that I seen this happening to someone. Hopefully, others that are getting ready to leave the PI will see this. Good luck to both of you and have a Happy Reunion once she gets here....:thumbs:

A CFO notice was included with Chinook's visa too.

However, we already knew about the CFO requirement thanks to the numerous threads right here on the Philippines forum.
