its so disgusting.my fince called the US embassy yesterday to asked regarding with the status of the visa and we were shocked when he said that it was "under review"?? and asked things like if i got pink slip and what did the consul said after the interview...i told him i was given a pink slip and told to proceed to windows 37 for instruction on how to deliver the passport and visa..but why is it we are under review?what does it mean?this is so frustrating..

Don't worry about it. It happened to me also when I called their customer service and they told me the same thing. When you get your pink, you are already approved.

my GF was interviewed last March 29, was approved yet until now she has not received her visa yet, and she's just in Manila...it's frustrating at times and one could get anxious...she has work here and her Principal is looking for her already..she needed to rebook her return flight... I hope the Principal understands that she did not intend to absent herself from school..visa delivery is not within her control... tsk tsk

National Hero's Day is on August it's Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valour on friday :)

Thanks for the clarification, I knew it was one of those days. USEM sent me an email a few weeks ago when I inqured about holidays and which days they would be open/closed. April 9 was listed as a closed for business day, it only said "local PH Holiday."

question: is possible to pick up your visa once after the interview has been approved, rather going to the procees of air21? i am planning to make it sure i have the visa, since i will be booking the flight of my fiancee ahead of time. any experiences?

I have read several times on VJ that you can request to pick up your Visa from the embassy when it's ready. This request must be made (verbally or in writing) to the interviewing counslar after they have approved your Visa. Usually, you can pick up the Visa in 2-3 days from the interview.

Ok I am confused here, im getting conflicting news, one says that my fiancee needs to bring extra cash to the USEM on the date of the interview so she may pay for the AIR21 service and then I get other conflicting news that the AIR21 fee is integrated with the $131 paid at the BDO, someone please advise.....

thanks in advanced

The AIR21 fee is extra, not included in Visa fee, and the amount is dependent upon how far the delivery is from Manila. About 200-300 pesos.

Yes. My fiancee and I picked up her visa at the USEM 2 days after her interview date. We just verbally asked the consular officer right after he said we got approved.

While you are waiting in Manila to pick up your visa at the Embassy, have some fun and go explore the Mall of Asia. It's gigantic. It's so big that my wife and I never made it the other end of the mall.

There's lots of good food there. Also, we burned our digital photos onto disks and got some photos printed at the mall.

My favorite store is Filipino Cultura (sp?). :star: They carry interesting arts and crafts that are all made in the Philippines. We bought several native-shell picture frames, and bamboo picture frames too.

Geez...I've never seen as many people at a mall in the U.S. as I did at the Mall of Asia. There were thousands of people there. I think Filipinos like malls.
