What would happen if we just got married next month before they made a decision.It's taking them forever and I am running out of patience!

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well,they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit,nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !


June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again,still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

Well, you could get approved for the K1 a week after the wedding.. which would mean nothing as you're married and that cancels the K1 visa.

THEN you would have to start the CR-1 process, pay all the fees associated with that, and then wait the year or so until you get approved/interviewed for that... that's assuming whatever is delaying your case now doesn't delay the CR-1 also.

Personally, wouldn't bother getting married now. You're committed to K1, getting married now does not change the reasons for your "waiting" and doesn't speed things up.. it does the reverse actually.

What would happen is that all your hard work and waiting goes down the drain. You can get married of course, but then your K1 is null and void, and you need to start afresh with a CR-1, and file the waiver again after the interview, and wait again.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Getting married doesn't bring you physically together which is ultimately what you want. It does not mean you can automatically join your fiance(e) then in the USA. It changes nothing for the better.

(F) i know the waiting is stressful and just down right life altering....but ur gonna make it thru this one way or another getting married is not going to resolve the issue that is going on.......dont throw all this waiting time away......praying for u daily hope this is resolved soon
