Well I thought I had everything together for my I-134 but I'm starting to second guess myself. Here is what I did and the information I have. Im currently a student but I collect an income from my GI Bill (about $1090 per month) plus Veterans Disability (about $240 per month). I know I fall below the poverty line so my father is filing a seperate I-134. I have attached the following documents.

My I-134:

-Statement of intent to marry

-A copy of NOA1 and NOA2

-The I-134 and letter explaining benefits I recieve

-Copies of supporting documents from the VA as well as a letter from my bank and bank statements

-Im in the process of attaching copies previous W-2's

My Father's I-134

-The I-134

-A copy of the letter from his bank and bank statements

-A copy of the letter from his employer and pay stubs

-A copy of his birth certificate to establish citizenship

NOW MY QUESTIONS:

1. Do I need to send ORIGINALS of these documents? If so do you know a quick way to get them to Ukraine?

2. I marked NO on question 11. Is this a problem as far as the Kyiv consulate is concerned?

3. Do you think I have enough supporting documentation?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and answer my questions.

1. No. Copies are fine

2. Should be answered "NA K-1 for permanent residency" See the VJ sample forms

3. No. Attach at least 2009 tax returns for both (OR 2008 plus copy of 2009 extension request)

The OF-167 for Kiev says to attach "att least two of the follwoing four documents" and you have covered that and this direction makes it seem optional to attach a tax return. It is not optional. It is OK to attach two of the four documents as long as one of the is the tax return. When consulates tell you to attach "two of the following four" it usually means to attach 6 of the following four documents.

This is a subjective decision, they are not bound by any rules, they can do whatever they want in regard to the financial support, and often do. It is best to have too much, if you wish to be successful and get the visa.
