Is getting Medical within 1-2 day of Montreal Interview realistic?

I can't seem to dig up an old post, but my Fiance is trying to get the medical and the interview done on the same trip to Montreal. She is being told by the medical she needs to complete the physical 4 days before the Consulate interview. Is it possible to shrink that time between interview and physical and send in the results of the medical "post" interview? Or is it best to just do the physical, sit around in Montreal for 4 days then interview?

Suggestions? Anyone with previous experiences here?

Thanks

Trevor

Maggie_Kenyth is in Montreal right now doing just that. Her interview is on Thursday and she had her medical sometime last week. However, she hit a bump in the road because of a letter she needed from her doctor. Everything has worked out, but I wouldn't dare do anything closer together than what she has done. I think her trip to Montreal is for 8 or 9 days total.

If attempting this, I would recommend a week long visit with the medical at the first of the week like Maggie did. That way if something goes wrong it can be fixed before the interview. It takes 3 days at Medisys(that's what Mathew used) to get your results back anyway.

So no, I don't think 1-2 days is being realistic. If it were Vancouver, totally. But not Montreal.

You can submit the results after your interview, but be prepared for a wait. There is no guarantee that they will get back to your file right away, in fact it could be a week or several before they do.

Dont give them any reason to request additional documents... its sooo not worth it, Montreal is so backlogged right now, it will be at least 3 months before you get your visa.

My Wifes CR1 interview is Thursday May 13th and we had planned to get the medical done the Monday before, but after reading this thread now I'm not so sure. I suppose we should plan on trying to get it done a bit farther ahead of time just to be safe..

So do we need to have received Packet 3 to be able to go & book the medical?? Or can you just call one of the physician's officers that are approved by the consulate and book whenever after NOA 2?

We are trying to do the medical on Monday and the interview is Friday. After speaking to the medical people they said they would have the files by Thursday for us. I guess we'll see.

But that's if no other documents are required and everything goes smoothly. Maggies blip that almost caused her not to have her medical results in time was resulting form a medication she took 10 years ago. I would never have thought you'd need a letter for that.

Just be careful everyone. It may only be the delay in the issuance of the visa, but with the way Montreal is right now that delay could last weeks or months.

Yeah. Obviously this whole event is premised on the fact that we have all our ducks in a row. If something goes wrong, something goes wrong. We'll just scramble and deal with it. Really all we can do.

We've done everything we can to be prepared and either it pays off or we get a bump in the road.

You need the first page of your P3 to get into the doctors office. They want to see some kind of correspondence sent to you by Montreal with your MTL case number on it. So, I would definitely wait until you know you have that.

I did my medical in Toronto in advance and was really glad I did. I was so sure I had all the required shots, but I was missing something that ended up delaying my results by more than week.

So if our NOA2 was mailed yesterday, and my wife finishes grad school in late May, we "should" receive Packet 3 before then, right? So sometime in mid-May she could get her Medical done and it'd still be valid by the time her interview rolls around?

If you are applying for a CR1/IR1 visa your wife will have her medical once she receives an email with her interview date in Montreal. The print out of that email is required at the medical. If you have just received your NOA2 I suspect you will be waiting a bit longer than May for a date. Check out the " IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview" thread which will give you an idea of current waiting times.
