Ah, the crazies, they want to be able to drive like arseholes in their SUV's because driving an SUV demands respect while every other road user (Cyclist, pedestrian and non SUV driver in that order) must use the road in such a way as to never inconvenience them, no matter what. Well, at least you guys know what you like and what you like is to be completely selfish and obnoxious. Yay!

The only times I have ever nearly hit a pedestrian/cyclist myself, is when I have been driving badly, ie lost concentration at a junction or something. Basically, if you drive well you are neither a risk to yourself or other road user, no matter what the other road user might end up doing.

They should either use the cross walk, or make three right turns instead.

Essentially, that is what most cyclists end up doing, using the cross walk.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I have never hitten a bicyclist or a pedestrian. Not because they don't deserve it, but because I don't need the headache.

Hitten? I have never hit one either, I just know that the only times I almost did it was basically my fault regardless of what the cyclist/pedestrians were doing. As a driver, we are meant to be aware of what other users are up to all the time. In an urban setting, one needs to be continually monitoring the situation and making adjustments, simply thinking you are invulnerable and always right isn't really isn't enough.

Out here on the LA freeways, we have a lot of motorcyclists and many of them will drive between lanes, really close to your car to where you could easily bump into them. It makes me nervous as hell when they are near my car, but for the most part, it's not a huge problem. I suppose if there were thousands of bicyclists out on the roads, ignoring the rules, it would be a huge problem, but nothing that couldn't be remedied with better road engineering and traffic control.

Filtering is legal if traffic is sub 15mph in California.

As a Modified Pedestrian that is what they should be doing....
