I don't have a printer at home and I'm afraid that the person reading my paperwork won't be able to read what I wrote (not that I have awful penmanship... I just am trying to avoid any source of misunderstanding during this stressful ordeal).

I was completing the forms, then saves them and was going to print them up at my local library, but for some reason, I-130 refuses to be saved. Does anyone know why? :unsure:

Adjustment of Status

11/03/10 ------- AoS (I-130/I-485) Package mailed out (Priority Mail)

11/07/10 ------- AoS Package received and singed for

11/10/10 ------- NOA1 received for I-130, I-485 and I-765 (emails)

11/12/10 ------- NOA1 received for I-130, I-485 and I-765 (hard copies)

11/12/10 ------- Touches on I-130, I-485 and I-765

11/19/10 ------- Biometrics appointment letter received

12/06/10 ------- RFE for I-693 (I think the issue is that it was not signed. Called USCIS and will receive a letter in a few days explaining)

12/13/10 ------- Biometrics done

12/16/10 ------- EAD card in production (email)

12/20/10 ------- Received "Letter of Explanation" for RFE (Service Request to expedite my case. Called USCIS and was told to ignore that and just send in response to RFE.)

12/22/10 ------- Touch (Email for Post Decision Activity on EAD saying that a letter of approval has been mailed out)

12/24/10 ------- Received EAD in the mail

12/27/10 ------- Applied for SSN

12/31/10 ------- Received Interview letter

01/03/11 ------- Received SSN card in the mail

01/07/11 ------- Mailed out response to RFE (I-693)

01/15/11 ------- Email confirming USCIS received RFE response

01/31/11 ------- Approved!

Pre-Adjustment of Status:

2006 -------- Met Online

02/07 ------- Visited him in the U.S. for what was suppose to be a few weeks (Came in with birth certificate and health card. Health card expired a few months after)

08/07 ------- Decided to get married because we didn't want to be apart (in the U.S.)

10/10 ------- USCIS Medical Done

It will save, but not with completed text/questions. It is a security feature in some/many government forms. Some folks have suggested using Foxit/Foxitpro as a workaround but I've never tried.

You may have to simply wait to complete the form when you're able to print it.

Thank you for the reply. I think I will just print it blank and fill it at home. Silly bureaucracy :bonk:

Im not so sure I agree with Otto. I've had my I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-864 saved with text on my netbook. I think it has to do with what version of Adobe you have or if you got it off USCIS (could be wrong) but I got all forms from them and it now allows you to save forms with the written texts.

Use bullzip printer or primo pdf. (Search google for the same, its a small freeware program). Use I 130 from USCIS, once you filled all the info, click print button and it will create another pdf for you. You can take that pdf to where ever you want.

If anything is remaining on the form, you have two options after that.

1. Fill with the hand

2. Use foxit reader, fill in the text, and again print, create another pdf.

I hope it will work for you.

If you download to Adobe, it should say "Please fill out the following form. You can save data typed into this form" If it wont allow you then you probably have an older version of the form, just simply download again.

I reviewed the document at the USCIS website and also got your results (unsure why). I have the same version (01/31/11) so Im not sure what the problem with me being able to save mine and not another. Here is one from Visa Journey that you can edit and save for yourself
