I don't have an issue with "samir_shannon", I have an issue with the concept of post-boosting in general. I have honestly never understood the concept. People post tons of #######, have gigantic images in their signatures, yet then complain when the site gets slow.

For a little comparison:

I own a few message boards. The largest one has right at 100 members, and has existed since 9/2001. On that board, I have 3,344 posts. I'm either #1 or #2 for number of posts, not sure. Could be #3 or #4 now, for all I know. NO ONE on my site has ever tried boosting their post count with ####### posts. Why? No one gives a sh!t. It's like a willy-comparing contest. However, anyone who DID post a bunch of ####### just to increase their post count would be banned. Permanently. Besides....there's no incentive on my boards. The highest level available occurs after only 300 posts, and the "member ratings" (post-based) is turned off.

I think it's just a matter of courtesy. Many of us use the Recent Posts feature to see what's going on. What we see now are polls from 2005 and topics started by people who are likely long gone from here.

Not singling you out, samir_shannon, as there are many others who do this, too. This was a general plea to stop the insanity, not aimed just at you.

its ok cian. i getcha
