It may well have to do with the fact you chose to send affidavits an bank statements instead of the more traditional photos and evidence of time spent together. Affidavits are a last resort, IMO generally useless for newlyweds and CAN (in this case perhaps DID) cause problems.

This is a very unusual situation.

Strangely enough all we sent were three notarized affidavits in addition to the required documents and were approved with no issues. Of course I did not discover VJ until after our petition had been submitted :)

This is an extremely unusual request. What is unusual about your case that would warrant such a request, when many include no evidence but a marriage certificate and maybe a few photos?

I agree with pushbrk too. In my case we submitted one picture, marriage certificate and birth certificate of our daughter. Kept it real simple and we just went by what was in I-130 directions to include. I preferred showing all the evidence at the consulate instead of over-burdening my application though I am of the view that it never hurts to overload/frontload your petition to USCIS.

9/1/2009: Applied for I-130

9/14/2009: NOA1 for I-130

For my case, I just sent CRBA of my daughter for bonafide relationship. (No photos, no emails, no letters, etc). And it was OK.

Hey guys, we don't have official honeymoon pictures-as we haven't gone on one yet-but we are going this September (we have all the hotel confirmation etc) should we include that??? just wondering...

any thoughts on the above??? please, anyone!

Does it matter if we dont have honeymoon pictures right now, could they deny our case because of that??

:S

I'm not sure they would put much stock into an event that hasn't happened yet. Do you have photos of the two of you together before and after your marriage? How about cards sent to each other ( I had saved most of ours with the envelopes showing the postmarks/dates), phone bills showing calls to each other, tickets from any previous trips you took together. Really anything you can think of that relates to your relationship to date.

Good luck.

Just exactly HOW is one to identify a photo as a "honeymoon photo" anyway?

No point in exaggeration. Since the foreign beneficiary carries their case file to the USA, more than a few ounces is overkill. Tonnage is not appreciated by any immigration official anywhere in the process. A couple pounds is a huge case file.

  • Evidence of a Bona fide Marriage
  • Joint account bank statements
  • Photographs of the petitioner and the beneficiary at various stages of the relationship (sending 30 pictures- before the
marriage and the wedding ceremony - I don't have any of us After Marriage-just didn't take any-as he left for home and I had to immediately travel as well...)

IMO I would leave out the info for the honeymoon since if I recall from earlier posts this is a trip you plan to take in the future. You can't do anything about the lack of marriage pictures now, send what you have. Hopefully you will get a quick reply and your file will start moving again . :)
