My case will go through the consulate in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My wife went to school in Jordan for 13 months. She no longer lives in Jordan and is living with her family in Saudi Arabia. She is not Jordanian and does not have residency status in Jordan. I am in the process of collecting the police clearances that she needs to complete her case with NVC to get an interview scheduled.

my question is.....

Does she needs to get a police clearance from Jordan even though she no longer lives there. Jordan Reciprocity schedule seems to suggest that Jordanian police certificates are only available if you reside continuously in Jordan for 6 months. I have included the text below which I copied from http://travel.state.gov/ website. what do you guys think and if there is a way for non residents of Jordan to obtain police certificates from jordan

I e-mailed the embasy in Jordan and they were no help in figuring this out. The answer they gave me was short and had nothing to do what I asked. really useless.

Thank you and I really appreciate your help.

Jordan Reciprocity schedule regarding police certificates

"Available to resident Jordanian citizens and foreigners. The General Intelligence Directorate (GID) is responsible for issuing good conduct certificates. They are considered to be reliable, but cover primarily security-related records, i.e. not necessarily criminal information. These certificates must be applied for in person at the local GID office, and are valid for one year. It takes up to two weeks to obtain the certificate from the GID. Foreigners must reside continuously in Jordan for six months before the GID will issue a certificate. There are no procedures to obtain these certificates through Jordanian embassies in foreign countries. "

Here is a link to the GID, so that you can ask them how to handle this.

What are the requirements to obtaining a certificate of good conduct?

We would like to point out that the GID does not obligate any one to obtain this certificate. However, some Arab and foreign embassies and organizations require this document for visas, work permits and non-residence living permits.

The requirements: Two personal photo’s (4*6c)

Photocopy of Passport, ID and family book

Stamps (15 piasters worth)

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........
