So if you view some of my other recent posts, you will be up to date with my story. After spending most of the day on the phone between the USCIS and the Post Office, I have gotten no where. The USCIS told me that they have posted my green card, AP, EAD and all the applicable approval notices - the Post Office claims it has none of these at their location, and if they did receive anything that couldn't be forwarded then it would be returned to the USCIS. The USCIS then claim that have not received anything that was returned as undeliverable. This is an absolute nightmare, I have a job interview tomorrow and I can't seem to get anywhere with these idiots. Does anyone out there have any experience with a mail forwarding issue?!

I believe that if you have an active mail forwarding order then the GC would be returned to USCIS. Without an active forwarding order it would likely be delivered to the address.

Karin has the best idea: check at your old address if you can.

We're trying to locate the old landlord so we can ask him, mysteriously his phone number seems to have disappeared. I don't know what to do, it's really frustrating. The people at the post office were complete fools, after the way the one guy spoke to my wife today I'll be reporting him as soon as I get a moment.

In terms of the forwarding problem, how long would it take for the USCIS to get it all back again?! According to them they have no record of it being returned as undeliverable.

Not to keep pounding the same theme but - is it safe to assume you moved pretty far away from where you lived before? You're not saying, so I have to guess that you couldn't just drive across town and knock on the door. (You could also stake out the carrier - not in a creepy way - and ask him/her directly - there's a good chance they'd know.) I know that doesn't help you with your upcoming job interview but.

Returned undeliverable can take days or longer - they're not in a hurry to get it back. And then USCIS has got to figure out what to do with it on their end.

Driving to our old landlords house might not be a bad idea, see if he has had anything - I have a gut feeling he would have just thrown any mail out though, I know we used to get a lot of mail for previous residents who had dissapeared. The Post Office said that our carrier hasn't been delivering anything to the old address because we had the forwarding set up - I went and checked the new post box today and my change of address notification was in there, but still no green card! Roll on April 16th when I can finally find out what the hell is going on. Thanks for the replies guys. For the interview I think I'm just going to print off all of my approval notification e-mails and hope for the best!

Well after spending another pleasant day on the phone with the USCIS, I managed to speak to a very helpful lady who filed a service request for me regarding my missing greencard - this morning, very conveniently I must admit! I have an e-mail saying that my card has been returned as undeliverable from the post office! Seriously let this be a warning to anyone else who might be having a similar problem or will do in the future, they are in no rush to do anything to help you out. Be very persistent and keep calling - hopefully it will arrive this time!
